Amenities
Lounges
Read Hall has two lounges, on the garden level and on the first floor. The first-floor lounge has a television with ample seating area. The garden level lounge holds ample seating as well as a fully appointed neighboring kitchen.
Kitchens
Read Hall has two kitchens: one on the garden level and one on the third floor, they come equipped with a stove, microwave, fridge, and oven. The Third Floor kitchen has a small seating area.
Storage
Storage is available in the form of a trunk room located in the basement of Read Hall please contact C&K Transport or The Department of Residence Life for inquiries.
Bathrooms
The first floor of Read Hall has one gender-specific and one gender-neutral bathroom. There are two gender-neutral bathrooms on the garden level and the second and third floors.
Laundry
Residents of Read Hall can access laundry facilities located in the garden level, near the bathrooms.
Computer Lab
Read has a computer lab located on the first floor. It has five PCs, a Mac, and a black-and-white printer.
Recycling
Recycling and Trash bins are located on each floor of Read Hall.
Air Conditioning and Heating
Read Hall offers central heating and air conditioning via portable AC units. The Office of Residence Life works with Facilities Management to review the weather and schedule the installation and removal of portable AC. They are usually removed during fall break and re-installed during spring break.
Elevators
Elevators are not available in Read Hall. Access to all floors is via stairs.
Outdoor Amenities
Read Hall has access to an outdoor green area near the Beach volleyball courts and the Cleveland Beach fire pits.
History
Read Hall was named to honor Luella Jane Read. Luella was a German professor at °µÍøTV who went on to become the Dean of Women and an Art History professor.
