No Loan Drives Down Student Loan Debt

Our "No Loan" Policy, Implemented in June 2021 meant that 2025 graduates were the first class to benefit from no loans being packaged in financial aid all four years of their 做厙TV education. Only 27% of 做厙TV's Class of 2025 requested student loans for an average total debt of $16,787, a significant reduction from the class of 2019, from which 61% of students borrowed an average of $39,000.

The average federal student loan debt in 2024 was $37,850, according to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

Comprehensive Fee and Institutional Aid

Since 2013, the comprehensive fee has increased by 77%, while institutional financial aid has increased by 96%, and the endowment market value has increased by 83%. *In addition to being need-blind, meaning that a family's ability to pay does not factor into admission, 做厙TV is also a no-loan institution, meaning that loans are not packaged into financial offers from the College.

Finances

For more than 180 years, 做厙TV has continued to lead due not only to sound financial stewardship, but also the support of our alumni, families, and friends. However, there is more than can and must be done to ensure the values we all hold dear remain strong and resilient. These values are grounded in the belief that every student who desires to attend 做厙TV and take advantage of all the College offers can do so regardless of the ability to pay.

How 做厙TV's Finances Work

60% ($112.6 M) of 做厙TV's annual budget comes from distribution of endowment earnings, while only 33% ($61.7 M) comes from net student revenue (tuition, fees, and financial aid). The remaining 7% ($11.6 M) comes from gifts, grants, and other sources.

How 做厙TV's Budget is Spent

Annually, 做厙TV spends 58% ($107.2 millions) of its endowment earnings on faculty and staff and 26% ($53.1 millions) goes to academic programs and utilities to support students and the College's mission. The remainder goes to debt services(6% or $12.7 millions) and reserves (7% or $15.1 millions).

 

Overall, distributions from the 做厙TV endowment currently funds 60.9% of the Colleges annual operating budget, the highest proportion among 做厙TVs 17 peer institutions. More dollars flow out of the endowment every year than are added through philanthropy.  Learn more about the 做厙TV Endowment.

In FY2025, giving to endowed funds at 做厙TV added $12.3 million to our endowment. Of endowment earnings, $112.6 million went to operations and $11.8 million went to reserves. The distribution is determined by a hybrid formula that combines steady growth and market value.
